Chloe is a white-nosed Coatimundi (aka: Coati), a mammal related to the raccoon that comes primarily from Mexico and Central America. Chloe came to Wild Wonders after she was confiscated by U.S. Fish and Wildlife when she was owned illegally as a pet. Besides ownership being illegal in California, Coatimundi’s make very challenging pets. They are very active, with a raccoon-like personality, and have very sharp teeth and claws. They act like a two year old human, and can live for 15 years. They are very curious, and explore everything with their long nose. They are also very social, females living in large groups in the wild. They love grooming sessions and mark their territory and items they like with a scent gland on their tail. Chloe has been socialized, trained, and showered with love, and has become an excellent education ambassador animal for her species. However, she is getting older. With your adoption, you can help keep this spritely loveable girl happy and healthy for the rest of her life!
