Chloe (AKA Squeaks) our Coati was caught basking in the beams of sunshine today as the temperatures finally warmed up. She was also very curious about her visitor and had to poke that long nose out to investigate a little more!
Here is our wallaby, Bindi, enjoying an apple while making some funny faces!
What a funny wallaby!
Many of you may not know that porcupines are excellent climbers! Here is our youngest porcupine, Snow Pea, enjoying climbing in her enclosure.
Here she is leaving her house and starting the climb!
Now she’s moving on up!
If you ever wanted to know what the underside of a porcupine looks like, here it is! This is the most vulnerable part of their body because there are no quills.
Here is a nice close up of her where you can see her grabbing onto the bars. What a cute porcupine!
It’s that time of year where the sun is shining brighter and temperatures are getting warmer. Also, our Arctic fox, Sitka, starts to lose his fur. Sitka is a white phase arctic fox, with a thick, white coat in the winter, and a shorter gray coat in the warmer months.
Here is Sitka in February with his very thick coat
Here he is again in March, with still a pretty thick, white coat
And now in April, where he is starting to lose that white fur, and that gray fur is starting to show in the back
Now here he is near the end of May!
He is still a good-looking fox!
