Surviving the Storm

Last week was quite an adventure with fast winds and a lot of rain. We are glad to have a day of blue skies and sun once again. Though it may not last, it is definitely needed for our sakes and the animals. They are enjoying a nice break from winter weather and soaking up the sun. The foxes have finally come out of their houses and are laying in the sun. The birds however are the most thankful for a warmer day. They get brought in at night when it gets too cold out and they are not too fond of their inside sleeping arrangements. As soon as they get outside in the morning, they vocally make sure the staff know that they prefer their normal enclosures. Everyone seems to appreciate the southern California weather, even Sitka the Arctic Fox was running for cover when the rain started up.
