Great Horned Owl in Training

Our Great Horned Owl Archimedes (Archie for short) is in training with his new jesses & is doing very well.  He had a difficult beginning to his life by falling out of his nest as a youngster & sustaining a head injury.  Long months of rehabilitation followed with therapy, training, and medication,  where it was literally “touch and go” with his recuperation.  His caretakers were never sure he was going to make it to the next day, let alone to adulthood.  Luckily for him, he had a dedicated & patient rehab staff who devoted the time & caring to give Archie a new lease on life.  Since Archimedes has been with Wild Wonders, he has received daily care, training, & love and is on his way to a bright future.
All that hard work paid off, as you can see, this is one Great Horned Owl who is going to make a wonderful education ambassador!
